Bali is the most common port of departure and a handful of fast boat operators leave from here every day. Most travelers spend a night in Bali where they can then get their fast boat tickets from one of the many local travel agents before transferring through the harbors of Padang Bai, Amed, Sanur or Serangan. The boat operators are many: Eka Jaya, Blue Water Express, Marina Srikandi, Gili GetAway to name a few, and the package generally include pick up and transfer from your hotel to the harbor.
The crossing should take around 1,5 – 2 hrs, but it will depend on which harbor you depart from, weather conditions, and how many stops there is on the way, and the estimation is not including the car or motorbike ride to the harbor.
Let us know if you would like our help and wish for us to put you in contact with one of our trusted agents in Bali, they can help you out and will guide you on how to best get to Gili Air.
Lombok is just a stone´s throw away from Gili Air and is a very convenient point of transfer. Just catch a taxi to Bangsal Harbour, which is roughly 30min away from Senggigi and 2hrs from the airport. Once there you just head down to the beachfront and the ticket office where you´ll be able to purchase your ticket for around 20.000 IDR. Now, this is a public ferry which means low prices but it also means “flexible” schedules 😉 The boat will not leave until it has enough paying passengers to make the trip, which normally takes around 20 minutes but will vary depending on what time of the day you arrive there. The crossing itself take approximately 20min, depending on the weather conditions.
The boats from Bangsal operate between 08.00 – 16.00. If you will arrive later than that and is wondering how you’re supposed to get to Gili Air, just let us know and we’ll help you organize a private boat.
If you are staying on Gili Air and want to explore Gili Trawangan or Gili Meno for the day, then this is easily organized!

Their departure time varies between the islands, so make sure to check the current schedule
in the harbor beforehand. (But to give you a rough idea, its around 08.00 and 15.00 every day).
