Bali is the most common port of departure and a handful of fast boat operators leave from here every day. Most travelers spend a night in Bali where they can then get their fast boat tickets from one of the many local travel agents before transferring through the harbors of Padang Bai, Amed, Sanur or Serangan. The boat operators are many: Eka Jaya, Blue Water Express, Marina Srikandi, Gili GetAway to name a few, and the package generally include pick up and transfer from your hotel to the harbor.

The crossing should take around 1,5 – 2 hrs, but it will depend on which harbor you depart from, weather conditions, and how many stops there is on the way, and the estimation is not including the car or motorbike ride to the harbor.

Bangsal, Gili Air ticket office, public boat, travel to gili air, Bangsal to Gili AirLombok is just a stone´s throw away from Gili Air and is a very convenient point of transfer. Just catch a taxi to Bangsal Harbour, which is roughly 30min away from Senggigi and 2hrs from the airport. Once there you just head down to the beachfront and the ticket office where you´ll be able to purchase your ticket for around 20.000 IDR. Now, this is a public ferry which means low prices but it also means “flexible” schedules 😉 The boat will not leave until it has enough paying passengers to make the trip, which normally takes around 20 minutes but will vary depending on what time of the day you arrive there. The crossing itself take approximately 20min, depending on the weather conditions.

The boats from Bangsal operate between 08.00 – 16.00. If you will arrive later than that and is wondering how you’re supposed to get to Gili Air, just let us know in your booking and we’ll help you organize a private boat.

how to move around Between the Gilis

If you are staying on Gili Air and want to explore Gili Trawangan or Gili Meno for the day, then this is easily organized! 
There are several different boat options, depending on your preference. 

Island hopper;
These two boats leave the islands twice a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. One leaves Gili Air in the morning, stops at Gili Meno, and continues to Gili Trawangan where it will remain until it goes back in the afternoon. The other leaves Gili Trawangan in the morning, stops at Gili Meno, and continues to Gili Air where it will remain until it goes back in the afternoon. 
Their departure time varies between the islands, so make sure to check the current schedule 
in the harbor beforehand.
(But to give you a rough idea, its around 08.00 and 15.00 every day).
Approximate price: 35.000 IDR.

Public speed boat;
Leaves once every hour, every day, between 08.00 and 16.00.
Approximate price: 80.000 IDR.

Private speed boat;
You can privately charter a speedboat that will take you between the islands
on your own time schedule and to individually adapted drop off points.
Approximate price: 300.000 IDR (one way).
